Omnitron’s OmniConverter PoE Extenders can be daisy-chained to deliver 30- or 60-watt Power over Ethernet 800 meters. Sankar Ramachandran, Omnitron’s product marketing director, remarks, “When the cost of bringing power to a remote device becomes impractical, or when replacing copper with new fiber becomes prohibitive, that is when the extender provides a cost-effective way to deliver data and power to remote PoE-powered devices such as surveillance cameras and WiFi access points.”
