BUSINESS BRIEFS --NEC has selected the Emulex LightPulse LPe1150 4Gbps Fibre Channel host bus adapter for integration into its Express 588 series of Windows 2000/2003-based servers. --Norlight Telecommunications has expanded its business continuance practice with Data Storage Services, which provides customers with off-site, secure data storage space on an as-needed basis for critical data. The disk-based system delivers high-speed transfer and rapid retrieval of customers' data, unlike tape backup systems. The Data Storage Services' hardware is physically housed and protected in Norlight's secure, environmentally controlled data center, and the system is further protected by its design of redundant configurations. --Neartek has integrated Comtech AHA's AHA362-PCIX GZIP compression board in the recently launched Neartek Virtual Storage Engine (VSE) version 3.0 next-generation virtual tape library and data management software solution. --The Neverfail Group, a global software company that provides high-application availability and disaster-recovery solutions designed to keep users continuously connected to business-critical applications, launched support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
