 China will stop imports and sales of incandescent lamps beginning with 100W lamps from October 2012.
IEA Annex releases draft SSL performance tiers
A solid-state lighting program run by the International Energy Agency (IEA) has released draft performance tiers for four different SSL product types.
Osram acquires remaining Traxon shares, announces new IR LED
 Osram has acquired the remaining 49% of Traxon shares, transitioning the LED lighting specialist from a close partner to an Osram brand.
OLEDs: Osram record, EU flexible-OLED project, NanoMarkets, OSA
 Osram has announced a record-breaking flexible OLED, while a EU-funded group headed up by Imec will also pursue flexible OLEDs with built-in intelligence. NanoMarkets has published an OLED materials market report and the OSA has published a volume of OLED research papers.
