Total has a discovery in 2,120 m (6,955 ft) of water at Mer Tres Profonde Sud 185 km (115 mi) offshore Republic of Congo.

:: Tanzania development well succeeds
Orca Exploration's SS-10 development well in Songo Songo gas field offshore Tanzania flowed a sustained 40 MMcf/d through a 1-in. (2.54-cm) choke at 1,900 psi (13.1 MPa) over a 24-hour test.

:: Floating liquefaction may come to Nigeria
FLEX LNG Ltd. has signed a memorandum of understanding with Peak Petroleum Industries Nigeria Ltd. for join development of Bilabri and Orobiri natural gas reserves using the FLEX floating facility concept.

:: East Africa geochemical screening agreement reached
W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. and Upstream Petroleum Service Ltd. have agreed to cooperatively provide geochemical screening tools to East Africa and the western Indian Ocean.

:: Murphy, Prosafe confirm first FDPSO contract
Murphy West Africa Ltd. has contracted Prosafe to convert a FPSO to a floating drilling, production, storage, and offloading unit ("FDPSO") and to operate on the deepwater Azurite development in the Mer Profonde Sud block offshore the Republic of the Congo.

:: Cecon wins Angola pipelay contract
Cecon ASA has won a NOK 170-million ($31.56-million) contract from Angola Drilling Co. for almost 30 km (18.6 mi) of pipelines.

:: Mobil re-awards Nigeria contract
Mobil Producing Nigeria has re-awarded a contract to Velosi Ltd. for services involving offshore fabrication, erection and commissioning of production, drilling, and living quarters platforms plus oversight of laying and installation of subsea pipelines offshore Nigeria.

:: Gabon FPSO contract extended
Vaalco Energy Inc. has agreed with Tinworth Pte. Ltd. to increase oil production in Gabon plus extend the contract of the FPSO to 2015.
