OFFSHORE WEST AFRICA CONFERENCE & EXHIBITON 2008


:: New Group Managing Director of NNPC to deliver keynote at Offshore West Africa
Penwell is proud to announce that Abubakar Lawal Yar'Adua, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, will deliver the keynote speech at this year's Offshore West Africa Conference & Exhibition. Mr. Yar'Adua follows in the footsteps of past OWA speakers such as former President of OPEC Dr. Edmund Daukoru and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The Offshore West Africa Conference & Exhibition will be held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria from 29-31 January 2008.

:: The Gulf of Guinea: Sustaining the Momentum of World Class Resource Development
As outlined in October's issue of Offshore Magazine, 2007 has seen "the emergence of the Gulf of Guinea as the world's premier deepwater exploration and production center." Capitalizing on this fascinating topic, the theme of 2008's conference will be - The Gulf of Guinea: Sustaining the Momentum of World Class Resource Development.

This year’s OWA is expected to attract more than 2,000 delegates and visitors from all over Africa and the energy centers of the world. The exhibition will include more than 100 exhibitors from West Africa, the United States, Europe and Asia.

The world-class offshore technical conference comprises a dual-track program with technical presentations from operators such as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production, Chevron Nigeria, Elf Petroleum Nigeria, and Total, as well as other contractors, independent consultants and exploration and production specialists.

“We are delighted to be returning to Nigeria with Offshore West Africa,” said John Royall, Vice President and Publisher, PennWell Offshore Group. “The offshore industry in the Gulf of Guinea is undergoing many changes and there are a wide variety of challenging issues facing offshore professionals in the region.
