:: Deepwater technology advancements could be quicker
Over the past few decades, technology advancements have been made for water depths over six to eight times those envisioned in the 1990s.

Subsea multiphase flow meters (MPFM) have resulted in more accurate reservoir modeling, history matching, simplified volume allocation, said Joshua Oldham, subsea system engineer with ExxonMobil at DOT in Houston on Feb. 12.

:: Riser response estimation method improves fatigue life
Accurate and consistent estimation of riser response to global and local external loading is essential. Toward this end, a method of efficiently calculating irregular wave stress time histories of tensile armor wires for flexible risers has been developed.

First Subsea is supplying twelve Ballgrab subsea mooring connectors to SBM Atlantia for the Thunder Hawk FPU in the ultra-deep Gulf of Mexico.
