:: Flamant-1 off Mauritania P&A'd
Dana Petroleum, as operator, is preparing to P&A the Flamant-1 exploration well offshore Mauritania in block 8. There were no significant indications of oil, but there were gas signs throughout the 1,150 m-thick carbonate target zone.

:: Seadrill nets 2 contracts
Contracts from Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. Ltd./Chevron International Exploration and Production, and Pearl Oil Thailand/Nucoastal were signed by SeaDrill Ltd.

:: Environmental Drilling & Completion Fluids Directory
The 2006 Environmental Drilling and Completions Fluids Directory starting on page 37 of the September issue of Offshore is a listing of industry fluid manufacturers and their individual products. The directory is differentiated into 15 sections based on type of fluid. Sixty-four participating mud companies and distributors are listed. Each listing includes new and updated products provided by each company with a description of the product and its general characteristics.

:: Esso awards Angola tieback contract to Subsea 7
Esso Angola Ltd. has awarded a $200-million contract to Subsea 7 Inc. for work on the Kizomba C Saxi-Batuque project offshore Angola in block 15.

:: FirstAfrica anticipates Gabon production in 2007
FirstAfrica Oil has completed its initial development drilling program offshore Gabon in the East Orovinyare field. The Global SantaFe Adriatic VI drilled four wells and the operator says initial production is expected in 3Q07 at more than 7,000 b/d of oil.

:: Sonangol contracts for Gimboa subsea production system
Sonangol Pesquisa e Producão S.A. has signed a letter of intent with Aker Kvaerner for supply of the subsea production system at the Block 4/05 - Gimboa field offshore Angola in West Africa. The total contract value is approximately $68 million.

Hyperdynamics Corp. has signed an agreement with the Republic of Guinea to explore an offshore oil and gas concession.

:: Buried Hill contracts for 2 blocks offshore Gambia
Buried Hill Gambia B.V. has entered two exploration and production licenses with the Republic of The Gambia for the offshore blocks Al Alhamdulilah and A4.

:: Lundin acquires Lower Congo basin interest
Lundin Petroleum AB has agreed to acquire a 18.75% working interest in SOCO International Plc.'s Congo Marine XI block.

Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. has awarded installation of the export pipeline system at the Tombua Landana development off Cabinda, Angola, to Acergy SA.

:: Gippsland signs farm-in for offshore Kenya block
Pancontinental Oil and Gas NL signed a farm-in agreement today whereby Gippsland Offshore Petroleum Ltd. will acquire 60% interest in Kenyan Production Sharing Contract L-6 offshore Lamu basin.
