:: Acid-coated sand for gravel pack and filter cake clean-up
A method has been launched to prepare and utilize polymerized alpha-hydroxycarboxylic-acid-coated proppants for gravel packing while removing the filter cake that was deposited by reservoir drilling fluid.

:: Apparatus and method for generating electrical power in a borehole
Electrical power is generated in a tubular housing, such as a drill collar, when drilling fluid flows through the tubular housing with this new apparatus.

:: Expandable sleeve
An expandable sleeve for use in a well comprises a tubular structure with an external sealing layer. It consist of comprising a compliant material, an intermediate expandable tubular body made from a plastically deformable material, and an internal spring structure.

:: Deep Venture contracted for West Africa
A contract for the drillship Deep Venture was signed by ExxonMobil with Larsen Oil and Gas Ltd. (Aberdeen) on behalf of Venture Drilling AS.

:: Shell contracts Technip for deepwater spar
Shell Offshore Inc. has awarded a contract to Technip to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for a spar hull and mooring system for the Perdido Regional Host project.

:: AWE starts Taranaki drilling program
AWE Ltd (Australian Worldwide Exploration) eight well continuous offshore drilling campaign in New Zealand's Taranaki basin will start with the drilling rig Ocean Patriot on the first well site.

:: Lundin Petroleum produces first oil off Tunisia
Lundin Petroleum AB ("Lundin Petroleum") and Sinochem Corp. began oil production from the Oudna field, offshore Tunisia, on Nov. 11.
