:: DISCOVERIES AND EXPLORATION
:: Reliance makes two discoveries offshore India
Reliance Industries Ltd. has made two new discoveries offshore India. One discovery is in block KG DWN 98/3 in the deepwater of the Krishna-Godavari basin off the east coast. The other discovery, GS-OSN-2000/1, in the Gujarat-Saurashtra basin, is in the shallow waters off the country's west coast.

:: Eni continues Indonesia exploration
Eni is continuing its Indonesia drilling campaign, having completed the Tulip1 exploration well in 800 m (2,625 ft) water depth off northeast Kalimantan Island.

:: OMV adds to its New Zealand acreage
OMV Aktiengesellschaft is boosting its New Zealand portfolio with a new offshore exploration permit on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island.


:: COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS
:: Petrobras, ONGC sign E&P agreement
José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, Petróleo Brasileiro S/A president, and ONGC executives Radhey Shyam Sharma, chairman of the ONGC group of companies, and R. S. Butola, CEO of ONGC Videsh Ltd., signed a partnership agreement on June 4 in New Delhi.

:: ABS, Vietnam Register sign joint cooperation agreement
ABS has signed an expanded agreement of cooperation with Vietnam Register (VR) covering a wide range of classification and statutory certification services.

:: OPITO to assist Indonesian government in setting standards
OPITO will participate in a new Indonesian government oil and gas task force that will meet in Jalan, Indonesia, on June 12, 2007, to discuss setting new training and safety standards for the offshore sector.


:: EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION
:: Petrofac boosts Australia investment
Petrofac Ltd.'s resources division has farmed into 10% of permit NT/P68, 300 km (186.4 mi) offshore northwestern Australia.

:: Thailand to accept bids in July
Energy Minister Piyasvasti Amranand of the Natural Fuels Department of Thailand says the agency will be accepting petroleum prospecting bids for nine offshore blocks beginning July 15, 2007.

:: CNOOC begins production from WZ11-1
CNOOC Ltd. has begun oil production from the Wei Zhou (WZ) 11-1 field, a marginal independent field in the western South China Sea.

:: CONTRACT AWARDS
:: Cetco secures Petronas contract in Malaysia
Cetco Oilfield Services Co. has won a $1-million contract to supply Petronas with permanent and temporary water treatment packages for its Pulai A platform in Peninsular Malaysia.

:: Cosco lands multiple projects
Cosco Corp. (Singapore) Ltd.'s 51%-owned Cosco Shipyard Group has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract, and five semisubmersible heavy lift vessel (HLV) conversion contracts totaling $195.3 million.

:: Kencana wins J4 field development
Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. has awarded Kencana Petroleum Bhd. a $38.7-million contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a platform and structures for the J4 development project off Bintulu in the east Malaysian state of Sarawak.

:: VESSELS UPDATE
:: Sembawang Shipyard to build crane vessel
Sembawang Shipyard Pte. Ltd. has won a $221-million contract to build a 5,000-metric-ton (5,511.5-ton) DP-3 heavy-lift crane vessel for Nordic Heavy Lift ASA subsidiary Avonway Ltd., based in Cyprus.

:: Keppel FELS to build second PetroVietnam jackup
Keppel FELS Ltd. has secured a $191-million jackup rig contract from PetroVietnam Drilling Investment Corp., a follow up to the company's first jackup delivered in March 2007.

:: Ezra orders ultra-large pipelay vessel
Ezra Holdings Ltd. has awarded a $25.6-million contract to Labroy Shipbuilding and Engineering for a newbuild ultra-large pipelay, accommodation, well service, and maintenance vessel. The contract value excludes owner-furnished equipment.
