    Cleaning of air heaters in power plants or recovery boilers has been traditionally done with high pressure water, chemicals or steam. If these deposits are not cleaned periodically, the heat transfer in the heaters is reduced, which in turn reduces boiler efficiency and increases a unit’s heat rate. This paper discusses the recent introduction of a highly effective method of cleaning air heaters utilizing pressurized liquid nitrogen (LN2).

    Since 2010, of 35 applications it has received that require a public interest review, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has approved three applications to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) and six applications are conditionally approved with final approval contingent on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's issuance of a satisfactory environmental review of each export facility.
